EUROPÄISCHER Hof Bad Gastein

We as a family of three just returned from this hotel and the hospitality was great, this is mainly due to the hotel manager David Messina, he is really caring about every guest at the hotel and try his best to make every guest happy and comfortable. The breakfast was phenomenal, but I think they could add something as pancakes or waffles for kids, so the menu would be more suitable for families with children. The dinners were outstanding because every day the menu choices were like a first class restaurant, therefore the dining experience was always exceptional.

We visited the hotel by renting a private apartment located within the property. The apartment was perfect and ideally situated in the hotel. The hotel itself was excellent, with great facilities, well-maintained areas, and friendly, accommodating staff. We stayed for a week, and everything was to our satisfaction—except for the last day. On the final day, large groups of visitors arrived, and there was loud music playing in the central hall of the hotel, which added significantly to the disturbance. Many smokers gathered at the hotel entrance, forcing us, as non-smokers, to walk through a haze of smoke to enter. In the basement, there was a party where smoking was also prevalent. Unfortunately, the hotel staff did not intervene to address the loud music in the central hall, the smoking, or the disruption caused by these groups. As a result, the next day, the hotel hallways and elevator reeked of smoke, and the basement was left in disarray, with a significant amount of litter, including countless cigarette butts. Additionally, the manager, as a smoker, may not be fully aware of the impact of smoking on non-smokers and the hotel atmosphere. For instance, when sitting in the bar, he would step outside for a cigarette near the (terrace) door. Unfortunately, this not only let in cold air but also allowed the smell of cigarettes to waft inside, which was unpleasant. While the hotel and its staff were otherwise excellent, the lack of action to manage the loud music in the central hall, the smoke, and the mess on the last day, combined with the smoking habits near entrances, were disappointing.

We booked hotel from 30.3. - 2.4. We were very satisfied. No problem with late arrival and very nice and kind staff at reception. As the weather was bad, we really enjoyed to spend a lot of time at spa and pool. Because the season in Bad Gastein was near to the end of winter times, hotel was not full. So it was so nice to relax at pool and spa, where was " nobody". We had room with balcony - I am reccommending. All was very clean and perfect. Breakfast was very rich, and - because we like to sleep:-), perfect is, that breakfasts are untill 11.00 ! Even if you come late to breakfast - nothing was missing. I would like to thank to staff, also, that we could leave hotel little later, after 11 am. So shortly - to say - 1 ) Nice and clean and big hotel 2) breakfast until 11. am and 3) CHECK OUT AT 11.am. Many hotels has breakfast and check out only to 10am. So that was the biggest advantage for us. Hotel has thermal water in pool, so You dont need to spend money at public Therme. What I would like to reccommend? Bad Gastein is also known as place with thermal radon water. Radon is good for many problems, also for skin problem / i had little allergy by wearing the mask a long time/. So I wanted to use also radon water. But water in pool is deradonised. Maybe - could be also in hotel also radon baths. And infopoint about the places, where You can use radon therapy in Bad Gastein. It was missing. I saw, that some guests living in hotel were visiting the Radon Stolen. So - because Bad Gastein is not only place for tourism but also for heathy procedures, I was missing full info, where I can get the radon Therapy ( baths, springs, fountains with radon ). Tips , where to use radon therapy. It could be be solution to know all about the city like " all inclusive informations" about sking, turism, but also therapy.

I am really shocked to learn that this hotel is a 4 star one, as staying there makes you feel it's even better than 5 star hotels. Staff are amazing and they treat guests super nice and for sure make you feel at home. Shout out to the lady at the reception mainly night shifts (with glasses) as she went beyond normal customer service, and I should say the same for the creek guy at the resturant along with Wisam as well. The food is better than 7 star hotels... Hats off to the chef. Super staff and super hotel.
